Tasha Cobbs-Leonard and Husband Speak Publicly About Son’s Adoption

In a recent interview with People Magazine, gospel singer Tasha Cobbs-Leonard and husband, music producer Kenneth Leonard shared the touching and transparent journey from their private battle with infertility to their triumphant experience as parents through adoption. Following years filled with struggles from failed attempts at invitro fertilization the Leonards credit their faith in God for helping them through. In an Instagram post, Tasha wrote “Because of You I have found a love that cannot be explained. You are our gift!” and ended the post with “Mommy Loves you to Infinity and BEYOND.” The post was below a picture of the new baby boy Asher Amaris Leonard, Tasha, her husband and his three children from a previous relationship. “Asher means happy. His middle name means chosen by God,” she said during the interview.

New Documentary Released Infamous Cult “Heaven’s Gate”

Journalist Diane Sawyer, host of “The Cult Next Door: The Mystery and Madness of Heaven’s Gate,” explores the tragedy of a religious cult 25 years after the shocking discovery of a mass suicide of its members. The cult led by Marshall Applewhite Jr. the son of a Presbyterian minister believed according to his Bible prophecy that he and his Heaven’s Gate followers would visited by extraterrestrials who would provide them with new bodies. In 1996 after learning about the approach of the comet Hale-Bopp, Applewhite became convinced that that an accompanying spaceship would be the vessel that would transport their spirits to another planet. The group’s 39 members were all found covered in purple sheets, wearing matching clothing and Nike sneakers dead inside of a mansion in San Diego, CA. The special is now streaming on Hulu and features interviews with family and friends of the victims.

Traci Braxton Singer/TV Personality Dies After Battle with Cancer

Traci Braxton, singer, and star of WE tv reality TV show “Braxton Family Values,” has died after a yearlong battle with cancer. Traci who was 50, had esophageal cancer which is a cancer of the tube that runs from the throat to the stomach. Traci, the younger sister of singer Toni Braxton died just a couple weeks before her birthday in April and not long after celebrating her 25th wedding anniversary to Kevin Surrat Sr. The couple had one child, Kevin Surrat Jr. and one grandchild. Traci who appeared on the family’s reality show which premiered in 2011 with sisters Toni, Towanda and Trina had also been seen on the third season of Marriage Boot Camp with her husband Kevin. Traci’s parents, both pastors raised her in a strict religious household. Her father Michael Braxton Sr. a Methodist clergyman and her mother Evelyn, a former opera singer is also a pastor. Traci who was a singer, had her first singing experience in her church’s choir.

“Praise in the Park” Scheduled in Houston, TX

Praise in the Park, heralded as a day of inspiration and a celebration of family and faith will be taking place next month Saturday, April 9th in Houston TX with a star-studded lineup of gospel artists. The event which will be hosted by Erica Campbell, Darlene McCoy and Willie Moore Jr. will be held at the Midtown Park from 12:00pm to 7:00 pm and is free and open to the public. Along with planned activities, the event will feature live performances by Pastor Mike Jr., Jabari Johnson, Zacardi Cortez, James Fortune, Kathy Taylor, Gene Moore, La’Sha Knox, Isabel Davis, Major and The Walls Group. A local Houston area, Chevy dealership an event sponsor will be offering attendees a chance at winning $1,000.  

Destiny’s Child Michelle Williams will Star in Lifetime’s “Wrath”

Lifetime TV, will be continue its drama series based on each of the Bible’s seven deadly sins. The anthology series which first began with Executive Producer Bishop T.D. Jakes installments of “Lust” and “Envy” will continue “Wrath: A Seven Deadly Sins Story” starring Destiny’s Child member Michelle Williams, Tina Knowles-Lawson, Romeo Miller and Antonio Cupo. The movie which premieres on April 16th at 8:00pm tells the story of Chastity Jeffries played by Williams who meet a handsome lawyer who seemingly has everything she wants in a man but soon his affection turns into jealousy, obsession and wrath forcing Chastity to turn to her mother and a former boyfriend as she fights to save herself.
