Atlanta Hawks Host Faith & Family Night

NBA team Atlanta Hawks announced that they will be hosting it’s “Faith & Family Night” on Friday, March 11th during the team’s game against the Los Angeles Clippers at the State Farm Arena. The event which has become of the team’s roster has in prior years featured performances from award-winning gospel artist Koryn Hawthorne and Grammy-winning hip-hop artist Lecrae. This year’s event will include as part of its entertainment, award-winning gospel singer/entrepreneur Jekalyn Carr who will perform for halftime and postgame. Jeklayn said, “I am excited to be a part of bringing friends and family together through sports and music,” she also added “Faith has a place everywhere, including State Farm Arena. Mississippi Mass Choir Mourns the Passing of Original Member

The Mississippi Mass Choir posted the news on its social media pages that it is with heavy hearts that they share the news of the passing of one of their beloved original members Jacqueline Graham-Wells. Fans of the Mississippi Mass Choir, remember Graham-Wells, as the strong-voiced tenor soloist featured alongside Alisa Patrick-McDonald on their title song to the 1999 album “Emmanuel: God With Us,” “written by Pastor Roland Pollard. The choir now in its 44th year has received countless accolades and awards including a Grammy, Billboard Awards, multiple Stellar Awards, and a Soul Train Music Award. Arrangements for Mrs. Graham-Wells’ homegoing have not yet been publicly announced.

Byron Cage Debuts “Byron Cage Show” Online

Minister Byron Cage recently debuted his online television show “The Byron Cage Show.” Cage, known affectionately within the industry as “The Prince of Praise,” began hosting the talk show on Instagram Live, Facebook Live and Malaco YouTube Live on Monday, March 3rd at 9:00pm ET. The weekly show will tackle topics relevant to today’s issues from those with opposing views, as well as health information and celebrity interviews and live performances. The premiere episode featured appearances by gospel legend BeBe Winans, Dr. Ken, actor TC Carson,  singer Mumen “Mookstar” Ngenge and actor Palmer Williamsand co-host Supa Dave. Other guests announced to join him on the debut and upcoming shows include Trina Braxton, James Fisher Jr. and Dr. David Venable.

Jennifer Hudson to Host Daytime Talk Show

Jennifer Hudson has signed on to host her own daytime talk show slated to debut Fall 2022. “The Jennifer Hudson Show” will air on Fox Stations Inc. networks.  Hudson also known as “J. Hud,” is an actress/singer who has won both an Oscar and Grammy-and was handpicked by Aretha Franklin to portray her in the biopic RESPECT. Hudson will become the second American Idol performer to headline a talk show. In a statement she said, “People from around the world have been a part of my journey from the beginning twenty years ago and I’m so ready to join their journey as we sit down and talk about the things that inspire and move us all.

TV Personality Makes History and Acquires Show’s Rights

Aaron Jordan Jr., host of “Café Conversations with Mr. Know Your Worth,” has made history as the first Black television host to own the rights to their own show. Jordan successfully acquired 100% ownership of the show that currently airs on Christian Television Network (CTN-WHTN) that broadcasts in the Greater Nashville area and its surrounding counties as well as in parts of Kentucky. As part of the acquisition, Jordan will own all the catalogs and copyrights of the show which will in turn create further opportunities for him to develop additional hosting opportunities, more shows, and new concepts. Currently there are 20 shows in the catalog that have aired regionally. Jordan attributes his motivation for ownership to an old interview of actor/director/producer Tyler Perry. Jordan plans to leverage the acquisition to inspire others and impact future generations.
