Yolanda Adams Performed With Michael J. Woodard For American Idol Finale
Yolanda Adams hit the stage of American Idol for the show’s two-hour finale. As contestants had moved onward, Michael J. Woodard, who made a profound impression on the judges and audience, was been eliminated on May 13th. As Adams had already influenced Woodard’s time on Idol with his last performance of her song “Still I Rise”, it was fitting that she joined him for the second night of the finale. Together they sang “What the World Needs Now” written by Burt Bacharach and Hal David.
The graceful performance was filled with the personal charm of both Adams and Woodard. The duet, filled with enough distinct vocal stylization between the two of them that and besides the easily identifiable chorus, was uniquely theirs. The stage sparkled similarly to their spirited collective shine and was complemented by Woodard’s studded jacket, Adams’ metallic jumpsuit and single-lined chorus in the background.
