Stevie Wonder to Perform at CBS Special Celebrates the Motown Sound’s 60th Anniversary
This Sunday April 21st, Motown will celebrate it’s 60th anniversary with a televised show. Beginning 60 years ago in Detroit with artists such as The Tempations, The Supremes, and The Four Tops, Motown’s sound became synonymous with soulful class. Many of the artists will return to the stage together in tribute to the institution the were a part of building.
Held at at Los Angeles’ Microsoft Theater, the show will highlight the label’s long history. Stevie Wonder will be among the many performers who will grace the stage including Ne-yo, John Legend, Ciara, Diana Ross, Tori Kelly and more. The show wil be hosted by one of the people with the longest history with Motown – Smokey Robinson and comedian Cedric the Entertainer.
