New Inspirational Web-Based TV Talk Show, The Blend, Successfully Premieres
Due to an overwhelming response, the new inspirational weekly web-based talk show by and for women, The Blend, schedules an encore episode throughout the week. The Blend successfully premiered Wednesday, October 3, 2018, online at www.facebook.com/theblendtalkshow.
Created by entertainment veteran LaVonda P. Rouse, the one-hour show, taped before a live audience, is solely to uplift and encourage women to be intentional about being whole through empowerment and healing from the inside and out.
Get ready for a panel of four African-American experts, psychologists Dr. Gloria A. Chance and Dr. Peace Amadi, naturopathic specialist, Dr. Tabatha Carr, and spiritual leader Jewel Diamond-Taylor who take a holistic and unapologetic approach to discussing the spirit, mind, and body related to faith, health, wellness, fitness, relationships, family, life-work balance and other poignant lifestyle topics.
On each high-energy episode, the hosts integrate mind, body, and spirit with topical discussions. The premiere episode will take you on a mental health journey and introduce you to Dr. Angela Neal Barnett, an award-winning national psychologist, professor, and leading expert on anxiety disorders among African Americans, who will share tips on lasting mental health. In addition, author of The Soul Food Diet, Chef Charla Franklin, will discuss the history of African American food, and how your diet affects your mood as much as it affects your physical health.
Moreover, The Blend’s resident fitness expert Dawn Strozier will give tips and demonstrate traditional and alternative exercises to claim your total health from the inside and out.
The first season will feature entertaining and informative guests such as the legendary motivational speaker and author Les Brown, who shares his spirited victory over cancer; and tech expert Sequoia Blodgett, who spills the tea on how you can monetize technology. You’ll get a double dose of skin care tips from Esthetician Debra Van Kallen, who shares helpful tips on preventative
skincare, and Integrative Esthetician Traci Williams, Ph.D., who incorporates holistic and integrative esthetics with nutrition.
You will also hear from conceptual artist, Amanda Harris, writer, educator, and blogger, and the Director of #BrownUpYourFeed who uses social media as a tool to discuss, provoke and display her feelings about race, colorism, and black women in today’s society.
“The Blend is setting out to provide our viewers’ food for the spirit, mind, and body,” Rouse stated. “The premise for this show is that we are all inherently spiritual beings. We are digging deep into the real you, going beyond the surface, and offering insight into the issues that you do not see with the naked eye. We are looking at how these issues affect the whole person.”
