Liz Black Wins First Stellar Award – Gospel Announcer of the Year!
Broadcast legend and syndicated radio personality Liz Black has earned her first Stellar Award. The 33rd Annual Stellar Gospel Music Awards was held in Las Vegas, Nevada which featured its Radio Awards ceremony in The Orleans Ballroom in the city. Previously nominated four times, Black took home the gold for Radio Personality of the Year.
Black’s achievements have stretched wide through her entertainment experiences as voice-over host for BET’s “Joyful Noise” musical TV series and as a former actress and model. As a born again Christian, Black’s spirit was renewed after a near decade long spiral into drugs. The new journey would lay ground for Black’s successful foray into broadcast and internet radio.
With fullness and sincerity, in her acceptance speech Black thanked her audience and expressed “I do what I do because I’m on assignment to make sure that we continue to lift up the name of Jesus and try to make your day better no matter what’s going on around you. I just want to say thank you and this means so much to me.”
Over the Awards celebration weekend, Liz hosted her show “Inspirations with Liz Black” and communed with some of the best in Gospel music.
Black’s weekday program “Inspirations with Liz Black” is syndicated by the Pittsburgh, PA-based American Urban Radio Network’s AURN Inspirational wing. It airs between 10AM and 3 PM on a number of stations, including the powerhouse WLIB 1190 AM in New York City. Black also hosts “Sunday Praise” on WBLS 107.5 in the Big Apple.
