Fred Hammond Celebrates Milestone 60th Birthday with a Virtual Bash
Fred Hammond is gearing up to celebrate a milestone birthday. The singer who will be turning 60 years old this month wants to celebrate with a virtual bash to the delight of his fans. After recently announcing that he and several members of his family and team had contracted COVID-19, he is grateful for recovery. Fred’s 60th Birthday Bash will be a combination of music and a stage play scheduled for December 30th 2020 @ 8:00 PM EST. The Big 60 Show will be complete with special guests, music, dancing, worship and praise, as well as a premiere of his brand new theatrical sitcom “An Ex Ms. Carol” in which Hammond plays the role of Sam the patriarch of the Williams family.
“An Ex. Ms. Carol” was written and directed by Hammond and explores what happens when 29 years of marriage is put to the test. Sam Williams has always been a loving and devoted husband and father until a moment of indiscretion changes the course of the marriage, leaving the everyone to wonder whether or not the Williamses can survive with their love and family intact. Hammond has always pushed the creative envelope and “An Ex Ms.Carol” is no exception. Brian Courtney Wilson Has Announced a Livestream Event
Brian Courtney Wilson will be hosting “Still” a one night only streaming concert event on December 29, 2020 at 7:00 PM Eastern. The virtual concert which promises to be an amazing night of worship, was filmed live with his band, vocalists and a few surprise guests. Gospel Artist Darwin Hobbs is Returning After More than a 10-Year Hiatus
It’s hard to believe it has been more than a decade since we last heard from Darwin Hobbs known as “the Luther Vandross of gospel.” Darwin’s last album, which was also his first live recording “Champion” peaked at #6 on Billboard Gospel chart back in 2010. “Setlist is coming” said Hobbs. His new single “Get Ready”, will be available on January 15th on all music outlets. The recording for his latest album was canceled last spring due to COVID but he’s ready and wants all of his fans to get ready for the new album which is set to be released spring 2021.
Estranged Father of JJ Hairston Has Passed
Gospel artist JJ Hairston shared a very transparent moment with his fans following the passing of his estranged father James Hairston Jr. In an online statement to his fans, Hairston said his management team had urged him to set a meeting between the two although it was never confirmed. His father was mostly absentee in the life of the Grammy-nominated, multi-Stellar Award-winning artist. The two he said, had only seen each other face-to-face a few times over the years. According to Hairston, “He met my son when he was very young, and never my daughters at all.” James Hairston Jr. died as the result of a heart attack.
The unfortunate passing came amidst the news of the release of JJ Hairston’s 11th album “Not Holding Back” which will be available on digital and streaming outlets New Year’s Day. The album will feature 12-tracks of inspiration, hope and healing. Also planned for the new year, JJ Hairston will be performing for his virtual album release concert on January 5, 2021. A devotional book by the same name will also be available late January 2021.
Bishop William Murphy, III Publishes a New Book on Christmas Day
Bishop William Murphy, III Grammy-nominated gospel artist and Lead Pastor of The dReam Center of Atlanta, is set to release a follow-up to his 2015 devotional book “Praying Through It: 365 Days Worth of Prayers That Make Praying Easy” December 25, 2021. The collection of prayers was passed down from generation to generation within his own family, first starting with his grandfather Bishop William H. Murphy Sr. then to his father Bishop William H. Murphy Jr. and now they are in the hands of Bishop William Murphy, III who has been published the collection and has been sharing it with those of his own generation. Bishop Murphy, III is planning is to release Praying Through It, Volume II a continuation of this first book filled with prayers of hope, grace and strength designed to activate faith.
