Former Rapper Mase was Named New Pastor of Church in Atlanta, GA
Mason Durell Betha, iconic ’90s hip-hop star known as “Mase” was named the new pastor of the Gathering Oasis Church, a non-denominational church in Atlanta. Gathering Oasis Church announced Mase’s new position during an interview with the former rapper on YouTube (The GO Church Welcomes It’s New Leader). Mase explained that he’s taking on this role to help bring his community closer to God. Mase, 43, rose to fame as a rapper during the late 1990s for Bad Boy Records alongside Sean “Diddy” Combs.
During his five-year hiatus from music, Mase became an ordained minister. He made a return to the music industry with a new ‘clean cut’ image with album “Welcome Back.” The album sold 188,000 copies in its first week of release and eventually went gold. His last official single “Nothing,” was released in 2014.
PJ Morton Released YouTube Documentary “The Making of Gospel According to PJ”
Multi-Grammy-winning singer/songwriter/producer and keyboardist PJ Morton released YouTube documentary “The Making of Gospel According to PJ” sharing a rare glimpse into the behind-the-scenes making of his Grammy-nominated self-produced album. Morton, who is the founder of Morton Records, released The Making of Gospel According to PJ chronicling his life-long journey with R&B and pop music influenced by his gospel background. Morton, the son of Bishop Paul Morton and Pastor Debra Morton has been the official keyboardist for the pop/rock band Maroon 5 (maroon5.com) since 2012. The Making of Gospel According to PJ shares childhood images of Morton and his father as well as appearances from guest artists such as Kirk Franklin (kirkfranklin.com), Tasha Cobbs Leonard (tashacobbsleonard.com) and Smokie Norful (smokienorful.com) who give accounts of Morton’s incredible music capabilities.

The National Baptist Convention (nationalbaptist.com) has partnered with producers Terk Entertainment Group and OCTET Productions to present “The 2021 Inaugural Gospel Inaugural Celebration: An Evening of Inspiration & Unity.” The two-hour virtual all-star gospel event features performances from inspirational music artists to celebrate the January 2021 Inauguration of President-Elect Joe Biden (joebiden.com) and Vice President-Elect Kamala Harris.
