Public Voting is Underway for the 36th Annual Stellar Awards

Public voting for the 36th Annual Stellar Awards to determine the 2021 nominees began last week will continue online until April 19, 2021. Central City Productions has already announced that they will not be selling tickets for this year’s awards ceremony due to continued concerns regarding COVID-19. Details regarding the virtual events for the 36th Annual Stellar Awards are expected to be announced during the summer. The broadcast of the 36th Annual Stellar Awards is scheduled to air across the country in syndication starting July 30th and run through September 5, 2021. Jekalyn Carr Celebrates 24th Birthday with Virtual Concert

Jekalyn Carr will be celebrating her 24th birthday with her fans online performing for a live virtual birthday concert. The concert will take place in partnership with the children’s advocacy organization Compassion and will be held on day of her birthday April 22nd at 8:00 PM EST. Jekalyn will be performing some of her biggest hits and will also deliver much needed inspirational messages. Tickets and information for the livestream event can be obtained either at or on the partner website at where you sponsor a child and receive free admission to the birthday concert as well as an opportunity to participate in an exclusive VIP Meet & Greet with Jekalyn. Tickets and livestream viewing will be available until April 28th.

CeCe Winans Performing for the American Country Music Awards

The Academy of Country Music Awards (ACM) is doubling down on its message that the country music community needs to be more welcoming to artists of color.  The ACM committed to this declaration and has booked four Black artists to perform for the 56th Annual Academy of Country Music Awards. CeCe Winans is one of the invited artists who will perform and this year’s awards ceremony and is expected to team up with Carrie Underwood to perform “Great Is Thy Faithfulness,” a song they recorded for Underwood’s current gospel album, My Savior.

In total, over 25 artists will perform more than 30 songs from three iconic country music venues including the Grand Ole Opry House, Nashville’s historic Ryman Auditorium, and The Bluebird Cafe. CBS will present the 56th ACM Awards on Sunday, April 18th at 8:00 – 11 p.m live ET/delayed PT. The program will also stream live and on-demand on Paramount+.

Charles Jenkins to Host Virtual Choir Practice

Charles Jenkins, 9x Stellar Award winner, recording artist songwriter and music producer will be hosting a live event for praise teams, music ministries, singers and aspiring singers. “Charles Jenkins’ Choir Practice” will provide an opportunity for all to learn new material from Jenkins and special guest recording artists. In 2012, Jenkins got his own start with the release of the single Awesome from his  breakthrough release project “The Best of Both Worlds.” Everyone is welcome to the event that is free and will take place on April 22nd at 8pm EST live on Zoom. Registration is accessible from the bio page on his Instagram account @charlesjenkins.  Upon completion of the signup a private link to access the event will be sent. Attendees can also sign up for a chance to win a prize.

Gospel Artist JJ Hairston and his wife Trina Hairston Co-Pastor D.C. Church

Multi-award winning gospel artist JJ Hairston took to his Instagram page recently to inform his fans that he and his wife Trina Hairston have been pastoring the All Nations Washington D.C. church under the leadership of Dr. Matthew Stevenson III. All Nations D.C. is the campus plant of All Nations Worship Assembly. Pastor Hairston and his wife have been conducting a monthly church meeting since the start of the new year. For their March fellowship they got together to present “Worship and the Word” services. The Hairstons preside over the church’s weekly Sunday services at 3pm EST and the “Morning Seek Sessions” on Mondays at 7am EST. In response to concerns surrounding COVID-19, All Nations Washington, D.C. currently meets online only.
