The Potter’s House Has Mobilized with Partner Churches for Haiti’s Disaster Relief

United Mega Care, the humanitarian arm of Bishop T.D. Jakes’ church The Potter’s House in Dallas, Texas has teamed up with the Perfecting Faith Church of Freeport, New York and Miami, Florida’s Tabernacle of Glory to provide much needed aid to 25,000 families that were left devastated by two natural disasters in Haiti. The death toll following a powerful 7.2 magnitude earthquake that toppled numerous buildings is nearing 2,000. The situation worsened just two days later when the island was battered by heavy rains produced by Tropical Storm Grace.

The storm triggered mudslides that blocked roads hindering aid to those in emergency situations. The three organizations banded together to provide emergency response aid to 1,000 households in need of food, shelter, medical supplies, water, and other necessities. “Through this disaster relief effort, we will supply resources that will assist with the essentials for living in this emergency. We collaborate in this relief effort to be our ‘brother’s keeper,'” said Pastor Donnie McClurkin of the Perfecting Faith Church.
