Kierra Sheard-Kelly Named a VP of the COGIC International Music Department

Congratulations to the new appointees to the new leadership team for the International Music Department for the Church of God in Christ. Among those who were tapped for the role of Vice President is recording artist Evangelist Kierra Sheard-Kelley, daughter of the Presiding Bishop, Bishop J. Drew Sheard. The new team also includes Vice Presidents Pastor C. Ivan Johnson, Elder Derrick Starks and Evangelist Rosalind Sanders Jones. Dr. Myron L. Williams services as the International President.

Jonathan McReynolds Stars in BET+ Original Movie Favorite Son

Grammy Award-winning gospel artist Jonathan McReynolds just had his acting debut in original movie Favorite SonThe story follows brothers in a gospel group who struggle to find a balance of life, love, faith and religion, while under the strict rule of their father, a megachurch reverend, said the streaming service. ‘Favorite Son’ is inspired by Tiffany L. Warren’s novel of the same name.  The scandalous faith drama also stars Rotimi and fellow gospel artist Anthony Evans Jr.  Favorite Son was directed by actress Robin GivensThe movie premiered May 6, 2021 on BET+.

Voting is Now Open for K-LOVE Fan Awards

The 8th Annual K-LOVE Fan Awards is a fan-voted award show that will be held in Nashville, TN May 28-30, 2021 that brings together the biggest names in Christian entertainment to celebrate the biggest names in music, sports, books and movies. Winners will be announced on May 30th at the Grand Ole Opry House and posted on the K-LOVE Fan Awards website. There will be appearances by Tauren Wells, Natalie Grant, Danny Gokey, Elevation Worship, MercyMe and many others. Hosts 2nd Annual National Day of Prayer Online Event

The event seeks to foster spiritual and mental health for a nation in need of healing from pandemic losses and political divisions was broadcasted live Thursday, May 6, at 4 p.m. PDT / 7 p.m. EDT on and SiriusXM channel 154. It was estimated that there were approximately 50 million listeners this year.

Donald Lawrence Will Be Producing a Twinkie Clark Tribute Project

“40 years of Power” is a tribute project dedicated to Clark Sisters’ group leader Twinkie Clark.  “I’m reimagining her classic album Power says Grammy Award-winning songwriter, record producer and artist Donald Lawrence. It’s no secret that Donald Lawrence is a longtime fan and supporter of the Clark Sisters and was the musical director for their 2020 biopic that aired on Lifetime TV.  “The Clark Sisters: First Ladies of Gospel” included the reenacted story of how Twinkie the main songwriter for the group sold the rights to their music catalog in exchange for a new car. Donald recently posted on his Instagram page “she will get ALL residuals for songs God has a way of restoring The Years”
